Is Examli the official IELTS test?
No. Examli is an independent practice app. It follows the format and timing of IELTS and marks against the public band descriptors, but every band it shows is an estimate to guide your preparation, not an official result.
What can I do for free?
Start a plan and work through today and tomorrow, take every lesson, practise with 2 AI sessions a day and review your mistakes. Plus opens the whole week, 5 sessions a day, full mock tests, every examiner note and band trends.
How do mock credits work?
One credit starts one full mock. Plus adds 1 each month on the monthly plan, or 3 at the start of each quarter on the quarterly plan. Unused credits carry over. If you run out, Plus members can add 1 or 3 more, and if marking ever fails on our side the credit comes back automatically.
How accurate are the bands?
Treat them as a well-informed estimate, not a guarantee. Writing and Speaking are marked by AI against the public IELTS band descriptors, and Listening and Reading are scored from your answers. A real examiner on the day may score you differently, so use Examli to find your weak spots and track progress, not to predict your exact result.
How does the speaking examiner work?
An AI examiner talks with you out loud through all three parts. It asks follow-up questions, gives you a minute to prepare your Part 2 cue card and keeps the real timing. Your answers are then assessed on the four speaking criteria. You'll need to allow microphone access.
Does it cover General Training?
The full mocks are IELTS Academic papers. If you're taking General Training, the Listening and Speaking practice applies directly, but the Reading and Writing tasks are different.
What happens to my voice recordings?
Recordings are used only to mark your attempt. Uploaded exam audio is deleted automatically after 7 days, and our AI providers aren't allowed to train on it. The Privacy Policy has the details.
What happens to my email if I join the waitlist?
It's encrypted before it's stored, so even we can only read it with a separate key. We use it to confirm your spot and to tell you when Examli opens. Every email has a link that deletes your details straight away.
